The White House has released the results of tests that Donald Trump recently underwent.
The US president caused a stir with his comments about the MRI scan he had undergone “for precautionary reasons,” though he did not specify exactly why.
This test is unusual as part of a routine checkup. White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt said, however, that men of the president’s age benefit from such exams.
In his note, Sean Barbarella, a U.S. Navy officer and the president’s doctor, wrote that Trump was given tests to assess his cardiovascular and abdominal health.
The purpose of this imaging is preventative: it aims to detect problems early, confirm the president’s overall health, and ensure his long-term vitality.
“President Trump’s cardiovascular imaging is absolutely normal,” Barbarella stresses.
“There is no evidence of arterial stenosis affecting blood flow or abnormalities in the heart or major vessels. The heart cavities are normal in size, the vessel walls appear smooth and healthy, and there is no evidence of inflammation or thrombosis. Overall, his cardiovascular system shows excellent health.”
The results of the abdominal organ examination are equally positive, with the organs “appearing very healthy” and functioning “within normal limits.”
It concludes that “this level of detailed evaluation is typical for an examination done at President Trump’s age and confirms that he remains in excellent general health.”
