The year now coming to an end is on track to match 2023 and become the second warmest ever recorded on the planet, according to new data released today by the European Earth observation programme, Copernicus.
The observatory reports that November 2025 was “the third warmest November globally” on record.
“2025 is virtually certain to end up as the second or third warmest year ever recorded, likely matching 2023,” the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) stated in its press release.
According to the service’s measurements, global temperatures were 0.6°C above the 1991–2020 average during the first eleven months of the year.
