With the statements of the general rapporteurs of the eight parliamentary groups, the five-day debate of the State Budget for the fiscal year 2026, which, according to parliamentary tradition, also has the character of a vote of confidence of the Parliament in the Government, begins today in the Plenary Session of the Parliament.
The debate will conclude on Tuesday evening, 16 December 2025, with the statements of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and the leaders of the parliamentary groups and the holding of the nominal vote.
General rapporteurs who will begin the five-day procedure have been appointed by their parliamentary groups and are ND MP Dimitris Markopoulos, PASOK-KINAL MP Paris Koukoulopoulos, SYRIZA MP Nikos Pappas, the MP of KKE Nikos Karathanasopoulos, the MP of New Left Euclid Tsakalotos, the MP of Hellenic Solution Vassilis Viliardos, the MP of Victory Andreas Voryllas, and the MP of Eleftherias Eleftherias Alexander Kazamis.
Then the special rapporteurs will be placed in rotation by parliamentary groups, who are:

The bill titled “Ratification of the State Budget for the fiscal year 2026” has already been approved by a majority of the Economic Affairs Committee. New Democracy voted “for” while all opposition parties voted against it.
