The baby was taken on Friday morning by emergency services to Agia Olga Hospital but unfortunately did not survive.

The mother told doctors that the baby was alive at 4:00 AM. An autopsy will be performed, and the police were also called to the hospital.

The 19-year-old mother told MEGA: “We were all sleeping together because we have two babies, twins. We put them in bed with us. We woke up and found the little one cold. She was born prematurely but was doing okay. She only had a reflux problem that we monitored carefully.”

When asked if anyone might have accidentally rolled over the baby during sleep, the mother replied: “No, no, we took all the necessary safety measures for the babies to sleep with us when they weren’t in their crib. We woke up in the same position, which was our greatest fear. We knew where we slept, that’s where we would wake up.”

She added that the baby was sleeping on her partner’s side. She woke up to prepare the babies’ milk, and then heard her partner call out urgently to wake the baby. They immediately called emergency services.

The family had a meeting planned to arrange their wedding and baptisms. The mother expressed deep love for her children and said they would give their lives for them.
