Seven agreements signed at the 6th Greece-Turkey high-level Cooperation Council

Greece and Turkey reinforce bilateral ties with agreements on culture, trade, technology, and disaster preparedness at 6th High-Level Cooperation Council

Following the conclusion of the 6th High-Level Cooperation Council between Greece and Turkey, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan co-signed a series of seven formal agreements aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and regional cooperation.

The Council session brought together senior ministers from both countries, including Finance, Interior, Migration and Asylum, Citizen Protection, Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Culture and Tourism, Education, Industry and Technology, Infrastructure and Transport, and Trade.

The agreements include:

  1. Joint Statement between the Hellenic Republic and the Republic of Turkey, reaffirming commitment to constructive dialogue and cooperation.
  2. Memorandum of Understanding on Cultural Cooperation, promoting exchanges in arts, heritage, and education.
  3. Joint Statement on Foreign Ministry Cooperation under the framework of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization.
  4. Joint Statement on Economic Collaboration between “Enterprise Greece” and “Invest in Turkiye” to boost bilateral investment flows.
  5. Joint Statement Launching a Bilateral Research and Technology Cooperation Program, fostering scientific and innovation partnerships.
  6. Joint Statement on Earthquake Preparedness, enhancing joint disaster risk management and civil protection capabilities.
  7. Joint Statement on Maritime Connectivity, establishing a ferry route between Thessaloniki and Izmir to strengthen people-to-people contacts and trade links.
