Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis had a telephone conversation a short while ago with French President Emmanuel Macron.
At the center of the discussion, according to the Maximos Mansion, were the latest developments in Iran, Cyprus, and Lebanon.
Mitsotakis informed Macron about the defensive support that Greece provides to Cyprus. The two leaders agreed to stay in contact and coordinate regarding developments in the wider region.
A French diplomat noted that Macron, “in a spirit of European solidarity, took the initiative this morning to call Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. They agreed to coordinate the deployment of military resources in Cyprus and the Eastern Mediterranean and to cooperate to guarantee freedom of navigation in the Red Sea.”
