A police officer who serves in the Attica Immediate Action Directorate was arrested on Friday afternoon (March 13) on charges of dangerous driving and negligent homicide.

Specifically, in the early morning hours of Thursday, March 12, 2026, in the center of Athens, the officer, while riding a service motorcycle, collided with another motorcycle driven by a 63-year-old man.

Both men were injured in the collision and were transported to hospitals in the Attica region, where the 63-year-old died a few hours later.

The investigation into the circumstances of the traffic accident is being conducted by the Athens Traffic Police Sub-Directorate, while an internal administrative investigation has also been ordered against the officer.
