Raid by the Greek “FBI” on George Tsagkarakis’ gallery in Kolonaki; fake paintings discovered
The investigation began after a post by the well-known gallerist on social media, in which he announced he was selling a Gospel dating back to the previous century.
Officers from Greece’s “FBI” carried out a raid today (20/3) on George Tsagkarakis’ gallery in Kolonaki.
Well-informed sources told protothema.gr that, during the police investigation, counterfeit paintings were identified, along with a significant amount of cash.
According to reports, the trigger for the investigation was a social media post by the gallerist announcing the sale of a Gospel believed to date back to the previous century.
It should be noted that the Gospel is also being examined to verify its authenticity.
