March 25: Student parade today at Syntagma Square, see which roads are closed

Tomorrow, on the day of the national anniversary, the large military parade will take place – Detailed traffic measures

At the center of the celebrations for the March 25 national anniversary today (24/3) is the established student parade at Syntagma, which is taking place in the presence of a large number of citizens and officials.

Due to the festive events, traffic regulations are in effect in central Athens, with temporary traffic stoppages and changes in vehicle circulation on major roads around Syntagma Square.

Drivers are advised to stay informed about the measures and follow traffic police instructions to avoid inconvenience.

Tomorrow, on the day of the national anniversary, the large military parade will take place at Syntagma.

Detailed extraordinary traffic measures:

• Tuesday 24-3-2026 (Student Parade)

Temporary and gradual stoppage of vehicle traffic from 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday 24-3-2026, as well as a ban on stopping and parking from 06:00 a.m. until the end of the events, on the following avenues and streets:

– Vasilissis Amalias Avenue, along its entire length in both directions, as well as its vertical streets up to the first parallel road.

– Vasilissis Sofias Avenue, on the section between Sekeri Street and Vasilissis Amalias Avenue, in the direction towards Syntagma Square.

– Vasileos Georgiou A Street, along its entire length.

– Eleftheriou Venizelou (Panepistimiou) Street, along its entire length and its vertical streets up to the first parallel road.

– Vasilissis Olgas Avenue, along its entire length.

– Syngrou Avenue, on the section between Ath. Diakou and Dionysiou Areopagitou Streets, in the direction towards Syntagma Square.

It is noted that on Wednesday 25-3-2026, student parades will also take place in municipalities of Attica, during which traffic police will implement the necessary traffic measures.

• Wednesday 25-3-2026 (Military Parade)

• Gradual stoppage of traffic and ban on stopping and parking from 14:00 on Monday 23-3-2026 until the end of the events on Wednesday 25-3-2026, on the following streets and their vertical roads up to the first parallel road:

– Achilleos Street, on the section between Karaiskaki Square and Thermopylon Street, in both directions.

– Lenorman Street, along its entire length in both directions.

– Kolokynthous Street, along its entire length.

– Vourvachi Street, along its entire length.

– Petmeza Street, along its entire length.

– Kallirois Street, on the section between Vouliagmenis Avenue and Frantzi Street, in both directions.

– Karolou Street, along its entire length in both directions.

– Marni Street, along its entire length in both directions.

– Anth/gou St. Regkoukou Street, along its entire length in both directions.

• Gradual stoppage of traffic and ban on stopping and parking from 12:00 on Tuesday 24-3-2026 until 19:30 on Wednesday 25-3-2026 on the unnamed road leading from Lycabettus Ring Road to Lycabettus Hill.

• Gradual stoppage of traffic and ban on stopping and parking from 06:00 on Wednesday 25-3-2026 until the end of the events on the following avenues, squares and streets, as well as their vertical roads up to the first parallel road:

– Vasilissis Sofias Avenue, on the section between Vasilissis Konstantinou Avenue and Vasilissis Amalias Avenue, in both directions.

– Irodou Attikou Street, along its entire length.

– Vasileos Georgiou B Street, along its entire length.

– Vasileos Georgiou A Street, along its entire length.

– Vasilissis Amalias Avenue, along its entire length in both directions.

– Eleftheriou Venizelou (Panepistimiou) Street, along its entire length.

– Omonia Square.

– Piraeus Street, on the section between Omonia Square and Iera Odos, in both directions.

– Agiou Konstantinou Street, along its entire length.

– Karaiskaki Square.

– Athinas Street, along its entire length in both directions.

– Th. Deligianni Street, on the section between Karaiskaki Square and I. Metaxa Street, in both directions.

– 28th October (Patision) Street, on the section between Eleftheriou Venizelou (Panepistimiou) Street and Alexandras Avenue, in both directions.

– 3rd September Street, on the section between Omonia Square and Marni Street.

– Syntagma Square.

– Filellinon Street, along its entire length.

– Stadiou Street, along its entire length.

– Syngrou Avenue, on the section between Am. Frantzi and D. Areopagitou Streets, in both directions.

– Ath. Diakou Street, along its entire length in both directions.

– Akademias Street, along its entire length.

– Vasilissis Olgas Avenue, along its entire length.

• Gradual stoppage of traffic and ban on stopping and parking from 06:00 on Wednesday 25-3-2026 until the end of the events around the Metropolitan Cathedral of Athens, on the following streets:

– Mitropoleos Street, along its entire length and its vertical streets up to the first parallel road.

– Aiolou Street, on the section between Ermou and Adrianou Streets, as well as its vertical streets up to the first parallel road.

The Hellenic Police (ELAS) calls on drivers, for better service and to avoid additional traffic problems, to avoid passing through and parking their vehicles on the above streets, avenues and squares during the specified time periods and to follow the signs and instructions of traffic officers.
