Two volunteer ambulance workers were killed in the city of Nabatieh after being hit by an Israeli drone strike.
The victims were 19-year-old Ali Zaber and 15-year-old Joud Slaiman, who were on a rescue mission.
The father of the 15-year-old was also a volunteer rescuer and was the one who found his son dead.
The city of Nabatieh has been heavily bombarded, with widespread destruction in residential areas.
The funerals of the two young men were held quickly due to the dangerous situation and fear of further attacks.

In Nabatieh, deep in southern Lebanon, the dead are not only Hezbollah members or Israeli soldiers. Among them are also rescuers—people trying to save lives in the midst of war.

As reported by Marinos Aleiferis, two volunteer paramedics from the city’s public hospital were killed when the motorbike they were riding was directly hit by an Israeli drone.

The victims were Ali Zaber, 19, and Joud Slaiman, 15—two volunteers who were on a rescue mission at the time of the attack.

The death toll among ambulance crews in Lebanon is rising dramatically, reaching a total of 42 in just a few days. Nabatieh has been subjected to intense bombardment by Israeli artillery and airstrikes, causing extensive damage to residential areas.

The father who found his child dead

The most tragic element is that the father of the 15-year-old volunteer is also a rescuer. He was the first to arrive at the scene after the strike and discovered his son dead—an image that starkly captures the brutality of war.

According to the report, the funerals of the two paramedics were carried out quickly, on a concrete slab where their names were written, as the situation in the area remains extremely dangerous and the fear of further attacks is constant.
