Retail stores across the country will be open on Palm Sunday, as part of the festive Easter 2026 schedule. On the same day, supermarkets will operate under a διαφοροποιημένο (differentiated) schedule, as some major chains will remain closed, while others will serve the public with selected stores and specific hours.

Which supermarkets will be open today, Palm Sunday

On Palm Sunday, supermarkets will not operate in full, but under a special regime. Specifically, the Sklavenitis and AB Vassilopoulos stores will remain closed.

On the contrary, Lidl stores will be open and will serve the public from 11:00 to 20:00.

The MyMarket chain will operate with selected stores, which will be open from 11:00 to 17:00 (See the list HERE), while Masoutis will also serve the public with selected points of sale from 11:00 to 16:00 (See the list HERE).

On Palm Sunday, retail stores will open from 11:00 in the morning until 16:00 in the afternoon.

The festive schedule of Holy Week

During Holy Week, from Holy Monday to Holy Thursday, retail stores will operate from 09:00 in the morning until 21:00 at night.

On Good Friday, stores will open from 13:00 in the afternoon until 19:00 in the evening, while on Holy Saturday they will operate from 09:00 in the morning until 15:00 in the afternoon.

On Easter Sunday and Easter Monday, retail stores will remain closed.

According to the Athens Commercial Association, the opening hours for the coming days are as follows:

Holy Monday: 09:00 – 21:00
Holy Tuesday: 09:00 – 21:00
Holy Wednesday: 09:00 – 21:00
Holy Thursday: 09:00 – 21:00

Good Friday: 13:00 – 19:00
Holy Saturday: 09:00 – 15:00
Easter Sunday and Easter Monday: Closed

The Thessaloniki Commercial Association announced:

On Palm Sunday, 5/4, stores will be open from 11:00 to 18:00.
From Holy Monday 6/4 to Holy Thursday 9/4, store hours will be continuous, from 10:00 to 21:00.
On Good Friday 10/4, stores will operate from 13:00 to 19:00, while on Holy Saturday from 10:00 to 16:00.
On Easter Sunday, April 12, as well as Monday 13/4, retail stores will remain closed.
