An impressive phenomenon occurred on Easter Monday morning (4/13) in Sparta, as dense fog completely covered the Taygetos making it invisible to the human eye.
As flynews.gr reports, the visibility in the area has decreased significantly, causing the mountain to almost “disappear” from view. The city looked as if it were under a white veil.
Such fog effects are usually associated with increased humidity and temperature differences, leading to condensation of water vapor near the ground. In mountainous areas, such as the Taygetos, the fog can be particularly dense and significantly limit visibility.
The phenomenon lasted for some time in the early hours of the morning before gradually beginning to subside
