Transit through the Strait of Hormuz will be open to all commercial vessels for as long as the ceasefire in Lebanon remains in effect, according to a statement by Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

The Iranian foreign minister said that, in connection with the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon, the uninterrupted passage of commercial ships through the strategically vital waterway will be permitted for the remainder of the ceasefire period.

He clarified that vessel traffic will follow a coordinated route already designated by the Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran.

Araghchi’s full statement:

“As part of the ceasefire in Lebanon, the passage of all commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz is declared fully open for the remaining duration of the ceasefire, following the coordinated route as already announced by the Ports and Maritime Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
