A 5-year-old boy who underwent surgery at Papageorgiou Hospital was discharged this morning.
The child was transferred yesterday after 11.00 a.m. by ambulance from the 14th Kindergarten of Evosmos to the hospital, with the first phalanx of the index finger of his hand amputated.
The accident reportedly occurred when the child’s finger was caught in the classroom door of the kindergarten. The ambulance and the child’s parents were immediately notified.
The boy was taken to the pediatric surgery clinic, where the wound was stitched up. In the morning, the boy and his parents left the hospital for home.
