An impressive medical evacuation was carried out once again by a Super Puma helicopter of the Hellenic Air Force, rescuing a patient from a cruise ship sailing off Milos.

According to reports, on Sunday, May 24, 2026, a Super Puma helicopter of the Hellenic Air Force took off as part of a MEDEVAC mission to transfer a person from the cruise ship “Costa Fascinosa,” which was sailing about 20 nautical miles south of Milos.

The helicopter approached the ship while it was underway and successfully completed the patient evacuation, transporting the individual safely to Santorini. There, the patient was received by an EKAB ambulance crew for continued medical treatment.

The operation was part of the Hellenic Air Force’s regular readiness missions aimed at providing immediate assistance in incidents occurring at sea or in remote areas where rapid and specialized intervention is required.
