According to the Hellenic Coast Guard, the vessel was operating a scheduled route from Rafina to Andros, Tinos, Mykonos and Paros, with Naxos as its final destination.

There were 30 passengers and three private vehicles on board. The required inspections are expected to be carried out before the sailing ban is lifted.
