Trump: These are the terms for Iran, we will meet now for my final decision

The Straits of Hormuz must be opened immediately and without “tolls,” writes the U.S. president in a post, also stressing that Iran’s nuclear fuel will be retrieved from deep inside the mountains where it is buried and destroyed

With a post on Truth Social, Donald Trump is effectively laying out the terms of a deal to Iran, with emphasis on opening the Strait of Hormuz and, secondarily, on nuclear issues.

He also states that he will meet with close advisers in the Situation Room to make his final decision.

Trump’s post is essentially a list of Washington’s demands toward Tehran, with the Strait of Hormuz and enriched uranium as the most important points for the U.S. president.

  • The Straits must be opened to everyone immediately, without tolls, for unrestricted two-way navigation. Any sea mines must be cleared to ensure safe passage. Many have already been destroyed by the U.S., and “not many remain,” Trump claims. At the same time, ships trapped in the Persian Gulf will be allowed to proceed to their destinations.

In his post, the U.S. president writes:

“Iran must agree that it will never obtain a nuclear weapon or bomb. The Straits of Hormuz must be opened immediately, without tolls, for unlimited navigation in both directions.

“All sea mines, if they exist, will be neutralized. We have already removed, through controlled explosions, many such mines with our great submarine mine-clearing vessels. Iran will immediately complete the removal and/or neutralization of any remaining mines – which will not be many!

“Ships that have been trapped in the Straits due to our amazing and unprecedented naval blockade, which will now be lifted, can begin the process of ‘returning home’. Say hello to your wives, your husbands, your parents, and your families from me, your beloved President!

“The enriched material, sometimes referred to as ‘nuclear dust’, is buried deep underground – with mountains almost collapsed over it – as a result of the powerful attack by B-2 bombers 11 months ago. This material will be retrieved by the United States – which, as agreed, is the only country, along with China, that has the engineering capability to do so – in close coordination and cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency, and will be destroyed.

“There will be no exchange of money, until further notice.

I will now meet in the Situation Room to make the final decision.”
