Dua Lipa and Callum Turner were married in London on Saturday morning, sealing their relationship with a civil ceremony at the historic Old Marylebone Town Hall, ahead of a lavish three-day wedding celebration planned for next week in Sicily.

The 30-year-old singer, who rose to global fame in the 2010s with hits about love and heartbreak, began dating the 36-year-old actor in 2024. A few months later, the couple made their relationship official in a private ceremony attended by close family and friends.

For the occasion, Dua Lipa chose a white skirt suit, a wide-brimmed hat, white heels and a yellow bouquet. The singer appeared elegant and relaxed as she left the registry office hand in hand with her new husband.

Turner opted for a fitted navy-blue suit, with photos showing him smiling beside his new wife as they walked down the steps of the town hall under a shower of confetti.

The newlyweds were applauded by relatives and friends before getting into the back of a traditional black London taxi. According to family members, the choice of vehicle was no coincidence, as the singer wanted a simple and understated departure from the ceremony. She had arrived earlier in a green Land Rover, accompanied by a friend, while Turner arrived separately.

The ceremony lasted around 30 to 40 minutes. Notably, the singer, who has publicly expressed support for the Palestinians, was married at the Sammy Ofer Centre, a venue named after the Israeli shipping magnate Sammy Ofer.

The big celebration in Palermo

Although the couple are now officially married, the main wedding party will take place in Palermo, Sicily, and will run from Thursday to Saturday.

People familiar with the preparations are already describing the event as «the showbiz wedding of the year», claiming it will be the most high-profile wedding hosted by Sicily since the cinematic union of Michael Corleone and Apollonia Vitelli in the 1972 film The Godfather.

According to reports, the couple have booked an entire floor of luxury suites at the Villa Igiea hotel, which overlooks the Tyrrhenian Sea.

The main ceremony is expected to take place at Villa Valguarnera, an imposing 17th-century estate in Bagheria, around 16 kilometres from Palermo.

Among the reported guests are Elton John, Mark Ronson, Charli XCX, as well as leading figures from the fashion world, including Donatella Versace and Simon Porte Jacquemus.

The wedding dress and plans for the future

Ahead of the wedding, Dua Lipa is said to have travelled to Italy to meet Donatella Versace and finalise the details of the bridal gown designed for her. Given the close friendship between the two women, friends of the singer believe it is almost certain she will appear in a custom Atelier Versace creation for the occasion.

A source familiar with the preparations said that «this will be the most stylish and glamorous wedding. Both Dua and Callum have been actively involved in the planning and want it to be truly spectacular».

The singer confirmed her engagement in an interview with British Vogue, saying: «Yes, we’re engaged. It’s very exciting. The decision to grow old together, to build a life and to be best friends forever is a really special feeling».

Speaking about the wedding plans, she explained that she first wanted to complete her tour, while Turner had to finish filming. She also admitted that, although she had never really dreamed about her wedding, she had now started thinking about what she would wear as a bride.

Dua Lipa also said she was «thrilled» with her engagement ring and particularly appreciated the fact that her partner knew her taste so well.

She also expressed a desire to have children in the future, while noting that she does not yet know when the right time would be, given the demands of her career and constant touring.

The next James Bond speculation

The year 2026 could become even bigger for the couple if Callum Turner is ultimately chosen to play the next James Bond.

According to reports, the actor is considered one of the favourites to succeed Daniel Craig and is said to have told friends that the role has already been secured.

A source close to him claimed that «everyone in his circle is talking about it. It is probably the worst-kept secret in the industry».

If Turner does take on the role of 007, it is possible that Dua Lipa could also be involved musically in the new film, performing the opening or closing title song, following in the footsteps of artists such as Adele, Billie Eilish and Sam Smith.

Turner began his career as a model with Next before finding success through his appearances in the Fantastic Beasts franchise, including The Crimes of Grindelwald and The Secrets of Dumbledore. He also won praise for his role in George Clooney’s The Boys in the Boat and in the series Masters of the Air.

The next James Bond film, currently known as Bond 26, is one of Hollywood’s most anticipated projects. The screenplay is being written by Steven Knight, while Denis Villeneuve is set to direct. Production could begin later this year, with the film expected to be released in 2027.
