A tragic accident occurred in the Denizli province of Turkey when a passenger bus running the Izmir – Antalya route crashed into crash barriers and then burst into flames, killing eight people and injuring 33 others.
The accident happened in the early hours of Sunday morning in the Saraykoi area. According to initial reports, the bus veered off course under as yet unclear circumstances and crashed into the safety barriers. The violent collision caused a fire, which quickly spread through the vehicle.

Nine-month-old infant among the victims
Fire brigades, ambulances, police officers and rescuers were rushed to the scene. After the fire was extinguished, it was found that the bus driver and seven passengers had died. Among the victims was an infant just nine months old.

The 33 injured were taken to area hospitals. According to Turkish authorities, 17 people have already been discharged, while 16 are still hospitalized. The condition of three of the injured, according to Turkish media, remains critical.
