Temperatures rise, meltemi winds persist, where it will rain today

Localized rain showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected today, mainly over mainland areas during the afternoon hours, while conditions will improve from the evening onward. Northern winds in the Aegean will reach up to 7 Beaufort

Today begins with generally fair weather across most of the country. However, from midday onward, cloud cover will develop over mainland regions, bringing localized rain, showers, and possibly isolated thunderstorms to areas of eastern Central Greece, Euboea, the Peloponnese, and the mountainous parts of central and northern Greece. Temperatures will rise slightly, reaching up to 33°C in some areas, while northerly winds in the Aegean will blow at up to 7 Beaufort. From the evening, the phenomena will weaken and weather conditions will improve across the country.

MACEDONIA, THRACE

Weather: Initially generally clear with a few clouds that will increase during the midday and afternoon hours, bringing a few localized showers or rainfalls and isolated thunderstorms, mainly in mountainous areas. Improvement is expected from the evening.

Winds: Variable, 2 to 4 Beaufort, and in eastern Macedonia and Thrace northerly winds of 3 to 5 Beaufort.

Temperature: From 17°C to 32°C and locally 33°C. In western Macedonia, 2 to 4 degrees lower.

IONIAN ISLANDS, EPIRUS, WESTERN CENTRAL GREECE, WESTERN PELOPONNESE

Weather: Initially generally clear. During midday and afternoon hours, cloud cover will develop and localized rain or showers will occur in the Peloponnese, with isolated thunderstorms in mountainous areas. Improvement is expected from the evening.

Winds: Northerly, 3 to 4 Beaufort and locally 5 Beaufort.

Temperature: From 17°C to 31°C and on the mainland 32°C, locally 33°C. In inland Epirus, 2 to 3 degrees lower.

THESSALY, EASTERN CENTRAL GREECE, EUBOEA, EASTERN PELOPONNESE

Weather: During the morning, cloudiness with a few localized showers is expected in Euboea. Gradually, clouds will develop over the remaining areas, bringing brief localized rain or showers in eastern Central Greece, Euboea, and the eastern Peloponnese, and possibly isolated thunderstorms in mountainous regions. Improvement is expected from the evening.

Winds: Northerly, 3 to 5 Beaufort and locally 6 Beaufort in Euboea and eastern Central Greece.

Temperature: From 17°C to 31°C and locally 32°C to 33°C on the mainland.

CYCLADES, CRETE

Weather: Generally clear.

Winds: Northerly, 4 to 6 Beaufort, locally 7 Beaufort in the Cyclades.

Temperature: From 21°C to 28°C, and locally 29°C to 30°C in Crete.

EASTERN AEGEAN ISLANDS – DODECANESE

Weather: Generally clear with a few temporary clouds in the southern areas.

Winds: Northerly, 4 to 6 Beaufort.

Temperature: From 21°C to 30°C–31°C.

ATTICA

Weather: Generally clear. During midday and afternoon, temporary cloud cover will develop, bringing localized rain or showers and possibly isolated thunderstorms, mainly in the western and northern mountainous areas. Improvement is expected from late afternoon.

Winds: Northerly, 3 to 5 Beaufort.

Temperature: From 21°C to 32°C.

THESSALONIKI

Weather: Generally clear. During midday and afternoon, clouds will develop, bringing localized rain or showers and isolated thunderstorms, mainly in the surrounding mountainous areas. Improvement is expected from the evening hours.

Winds: Variable, 2 to 4 Beaufort.

Temperature: From 18°C to 31°C.

FORECAST FOR TOMORROW, FRIDAY 19-06-2026

Generally fair weather with a few clouds in the southern parts of Central Macedonia and eastern Thessaly, where localized rain is expected during the morning hours. Gradually, clouds will develop over mainland areas during midday and afternoon, bringing localized rain or showers mainly in mountainous regions and possibly isolated thunderstorms in the north.

Winds in western areas will be variable at 3 to 4 Beaufort, while in the east they will blow from northern directions at 4 to 6 Beaufort and up to 7 Beaufort in the Aegean.

Temperatures will not change significantly and will reach 30°C to 32°C, locally 33°C, in the Ionian Islands and mainland Greece, and 27°C to 29°C in the eastern island regions, locally 30°C in the southeastern areas.

FORECAST FOR SATURDAY 20-06-2026

Generally fair weather with a few clouds, temporarily increasing during midday and afternoon, mainly over western and northern mainland regions, where a few localized showers or rainfalls are expected in mountainous areas.

Winds will blow from the west-northwest at 3 to 4 Beaufort in western areas, and from northern directions at 4 to 6 Beaufort in eastern areas, reaching up to 7 Beaufort in the Aegean.

Temperatures will not change significantly.

FORECAST FOR SUNDAY 21-06-2026

Generally fair weather with a few clouds, temporarily increasing during midday and afternoon, mainly over northern mainland regions, where a few localized showers or rainfalls are expected in mountainous areas.

Winds will blow from northern directions at 3 to 5 Beaufort and 6 to 7 Beaufort in the Aegean.

Temperatures will rise slightly in eastern areas.
