The Palestinian National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), a technocratic body tasked with planning the post-war governance of the Palestinian enclave, announced that it has completed a two-day round of talks in Cyprus, which it described as “particularly productive.”

According to a statement issued by the committee, a series of working meetings were held with experts and advisers from the Peace Council, the Office of the High Representative for Gaza, headed by Nikolay Mladenov, and the Tony Blair Institute.

Humanitarian crisis at the center of discussions

The committee said the talks focused on the immediate needs of Gaza’s residents and on initiatives aimed at alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian population.

It noted that specific projects and interventions were examined which, according to participants, could be implemented immediately with the goal of improving living conditions in the Palestinian enclave, which has suffered extensive destruction due to military operations.

Casualties continue in Gaza

The committee’s statement was released at a time when, despite the ceasefire reached last October through U.S. mediation, clashes and attacks in Gaza have reportedly continued.

According to figures provided by Palestinian sources, more than 1,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks since the ceasefire began.

Meanwhile, the total death toll since the start of the war in October 2023 stands—according to the same sources—at at least 73,069 killed and 173,514 wounded in the Gaza Strip.
