An emergency was declared this morning after a fire broke out at a business in Aspropyrgos, at the intersection of Megaridos Street and Chios Street.
According to initial reports, the fire started under circumstances that remain unknown at a business specializing in spare parts.
A large number of Fire Service units have been dispatched to the scene.

112 Emergency Alert
Shortly after 8:30 a.m., Greece’s 112 emergency alert system sent a warning to residents.
The message read:
“Fire in the Aspropyrgos area of the Attica Region. If you are in the Megaridos Street area of Aspropyrgos, move away toward Aspropyrgos via Agiou Georgiou Street.”
According to the Fire Service, the blaze has developed a high fire thermal load, making it particularly intense and difficult to control. Firefighters are working to contain the fire.

A total of 42 firefighters, 10 fire engines, 2 specialized aerial platform vehicles, and 1 helicopter have been deployed to fight the blaze. Municipal water tanker trucks are also assisting in the firefighting effort.

The Western Attica Arson Investigation Unit is on its way to the scene to investigate the cause of the fire.
