From its very first day, the Hellenic Forest Firefighting Team (Hellenic GFFF-V Module) has been continuously participating in operations to combat forest and rural forest fires, as part of the European Pre-positioning Program for Firefighters of the European Civil Protection Mechanism.

The mission includes 21 firefighters from the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th Special Forest Operations Units (EMODE), who have already operated on successive fire fronts, and since July 7 have been participating daily in firefighting operations to combat the major wildfire in the Carlencas-et-Levas area, under particularly demanding conditions.

With a high level of operational readiness, excellent training, and a spirit of cooperation, the members of the Fire Department represent our country with distinction, demonstrating in practice the importance of European solidarity and mutual assistance in responding to natural disasters.
