SYRIZA’s new wave of departures begins with resignations of party officials: A “wave” of MPs is coming – Who will remain in the parliamentary group

The MP informed the Speaker of Parliament, Nikitas Kaklamanis, of her decision to leave SYRIZA’s Parliamentary Group in a letter she sent to him.

It is recalled that Magnesia MP Alexandros Meikopoulos, Heraklion MP Charis Mamoulakis and Trikala MP Katerina Kontotoli also left SYRIZA’s Parliamentary Group yesterday. These departures followed two resignations — that of the party’s parliamentary group director and the deputy spokesperson — as well as one MP becoming independent, with Koumoundourou continuing to lose members.

In his letter to the Speaker of Parliament, Mr Meikopoulos announced that he was leaving SYRIZA’s Parliamentary Group and would continue as an independent MP. The same was stated in the letters submitted by Mr Mamoulakis and Ms Kontotoli, with the three departures reducing the party’s parliamentary group to 16 members.
