The British diplomatic mission announced that it has now “temporarily” its remaining diplomatic staff from Iran, as U.S. armed forces bombed the Islamic Republic for the 12th consecutive night.

Citing “tensions” and the “security situation” in the region, the British Foreign Office noted that it had “temporarily withdrawn” its diplomatic staff, confirming that the country’s embassy is now operating only “remotely.”

The announcement serves as a reminder that London has issued a travel advisory recommending that British nationals and individuals with dual British-Iranian citizenship avoid travel to the Islamic Republic, where there is a “serious risk of arrest, interrogation, or detention.”

A similar measure was announced in February, just a few days before the start of the war in the Middle East, triggered by U.S.-Israeli airstrikes against Iran.
