A wildfire broke out on Monday afternoon (July 27) in low vegetation in the Alithini area of the Regional Unit of Heraklion, Crete.
A message was sent via 112 to people in the area, urging them to remain on alert:
“Fire in the Alithini area of the Regional Unit of Heraklion. Remain alert and follow the instructions of the authorities,” the message stated.
A total of 25 firefighters with seven vehicles, one wildfire response team and two helicopters have been deployed to the scene.
