During the conversation, the Prime Minister congratulated the British filmmaker on his adaptation of the Homeric epic poem for the big screen and thanked him for the film’s role in boosting global interest in ancient Greek civilisation. Mitsotakis added that productions of this kind bridge Greece’s rich cultural heritage with contemporary creativity.

The Prime Minister also praised the considerable box office success Odyssey has achieved and expressed his appreciation that a significant portion of filming took place in Greece.

It is worth noting that protothema.gr had previously reported that, last Friday, immediately after mingling with other party leaders at an event marking the Restoration of Democracy, held at the Presidential Mansion in Athens, the Prime Minister left to go and watch Nolan’s Odyssey.
