Greek sailing continues its remarkable run of success—and there is more to come very soon.

At the Techno 293 and Techno 293 Plus European Championships, which concluded in Sopot, Poland, Greece’s sailors won a total of eight medals: three gold, four silver, and one bronze.

Once again, at a European championship, Greece’s Techno sailors demonstrated that they rank among the world’s best, and their future is undoubtedly bright. They delivered outstanding performances and, despite strong international competition, managed to distinguish themselves across six different categories. In one category (Boys U17), six Greek boards finished in the top ten, while in the men’s competition Greece placed four boards in the top ten.

In the men’s event, 14 races were held. Panagiotis Ioannou won the gold medal with 16 penalty points among a fleet of 25 competitors. Orestis Valiadis finished fourth with 66 points, Ioannis Deskes was eighth with 91 points, and Dimitris Georgatos placed ninth with 96 points.

The second gold medal was won by Kyriazi Zerva in the Girls U17 category with 26 points after 13 races. Evgenia Yvonne Gennimata claimed the silver medal with 31 points in a fleet of 43 competitors.

The third gold medal came from Evangelos Kyriazakos in the Boys U17 category, where the 56 competitors completed 14 races. Spyridon Monastiriotis won the silver medal, while Orestis Nikolaos Palamidis finished fourth with 64 points, Giorgos Kanellopoulos fifth with 96.5 points, Phoebus Koulalis eighth with 119 points, and Nikolaos Roditis tenth with 142 points.

In the women’s competition, 14 races were contested, and Evangelia Anna Georgatou won the silver medal with 44 points in a fleet of 14 competitors.

Another silver medal was won by Ionika Oikonomou in the Girls U13 category using a 5.0 sail.

In the overall girls’ standings, Antigoni Maniki claimed the bronze medal. A total of 58 competitors took part, and 14 races were held.
