Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited the National Coordination Centre for Operations and Crisis Management of Civil Protection on Saturday morning, where he was briefed on the wildfires burning across several regions of the country amid difficult weather conditions caused by strong winds.
Particular attention was given to the fronts at Agios Vasileios, near Porto Germeno, and Xironomi in Boeotia, both areas where the situation remains difficult.
Following the briefing, the Prime Minister expressed his confidence in and support for the men and women of the Fire Service, as well as the other security services and agencies fighting the flames on a daily basis under extremely difficult conditions, which often do not even allow the use of aerial firefighting resources.
