The St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and National Shrine is encouraging members of the community to participate in an important academic study examining the experiences of Greek Americans and the role of the Greek Orthodox Church in shaping cultural identity.

The survey is being conducted by Areti Efstathiou as part of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program Social and Cultural Anthropology HL Internal Assessment. The research focuses on how growing up in the United States has influenced the identities, cultural values, and social relationships of Greek Americans within the Greek Orthodox Church.

Community participation is essential to the success of the project. By sharing their experiences, participants will help contribute to a deeper understanding of how Greek American identity continues to evolve across generations while remaining connected to Orthodox faith and heritage.

Participation is entirely voluntary, and all responses will remain anonymous and confidential. The information collected will be used solely for academic purposes.

The survey takes approximately 8–10 minutes to complete. Participants who are interested may also request a copy of the completed research project once it has been finalized. In addition, respondents may withdraw their participation at any time before the data is analyzed.
