The Red Code mobilization status provides for full mobilization, activating and deploying the necessary personnel, as well as the materials and resources required according to the needs, in preparation for an imminent threat, for responding to emergencies, and for managing the consequences of a catastrophic event. Short-term recovery, assistance, and support measures are also initiated to mitigate the impacts of a disaster.

Within this framework, municipalities and regional authorities in the above areas are called upon to immediately convene the Local Operational Coordinating Civil Protection Bodies (TESOPP) and the Regional Operational Coordinating Civil Protection Bodies (PESOPP), respectively, in order to examine issues related to preparedness and the management of risks arising from forest fires.

At the same time, the Attica Region continues to remain under Red Code mobilization status due to the serious possibility of flare-ups with destructive consequences in areas affected by the fire of July 31, 2026.
