Referring to Randolph Churchill, the son of Winston Churchill, and his grandson, Winston Spencer Churchill, both of whom worked as journalists, Netanyahu said that the two men “came here and covered the Six-Day War in a very positive way for us.”
“Try to find something like that now in Britain, which you could call the ‘Islamic Republic of Britain,’” he said, laughing.
He then answered “yes” when the journalist asked him whether “all of Europe is like that,” apparently referring to Muslim communities in European countries and the increasingly critical stance taken by many European governments toward Israel in recent years.
“The first nuclear Islamic Republic will be the ‘Islamic Republic of Britain,’” Netanyahu added jokingly. “We’re making sure there won’t be another one in Iran,” he further stressed.
