Two vessels belonging to the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) were attacked on Thursday evening while transiting the Strait of Hormuz, according to the United Arab Emirates’ state news agency, WAM.

ADNOC, Abu Dhabi’s state-owned oil company and one of the world’s largest energy producers, said that its two vessels were targeted while they were underway in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to the company, there were no injuries as a result of the attacks, while the situation aboard both vessels had been brought under control.

So far, no further details have been made public regarding how the attacks were carried out or the extent of any damage that may have been caused to the two vessels.

The United Arab Emirates “strongly condemned” on Friday what it described as an “Iranian hostile attack” against two vessels linked to Abu Dhabi’s national oil company (ADNOC) as they were attempting to transit the Strait of Hormuz.

The latest incident adds to a series of attacks attributed to Iran against UAE oil tankers since the beginning of 2026.

More than 17 vessels have been hit as part of this series of incidents, with the latest attack once again intensifying concerns over the safety of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
