The Samaria Gorge will be closed today, Tuesday (18/8), due to weather conditions, according to the Natural Environment and Climate Change Agency (OFYPEKA).

According to the relevant announcement, the agency took into account today’s readings from the nowcasting application and the updated morning forecast issued by the National Meteorological Service (EMY), which predicts up to 9 mm of rainfall in the Xyloskalo area today.

As these rainfall levels exceed the limits approved by the Chania Regional Authority for the operation of the gorge, OFYPEKA announced that the Samaria Gorge will be closed at both entrances.
