The Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (GEETHA), General Dimitrios Houpis, visited Israel, where he met with Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, Chief of the General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
The visit took place as part of the military cooperation between the two countries, with GEETHA emphasizing the strategic importance of the relationship that has developed between Greece and Israel.
According to the announcement, the two countries remain committed to further developing bilateral cooperation, with the aim of addressing common challenges and strengthening stability in the wider region.

During his stay in Israel, Dimitrios Houpis also met with Maya Solomou, Greece’s ambassador to Israel.
He also held meetings with Amir Baram, Director General of Israel’s Ministry of Defense and a retired major general, as well as Yair Kulas, Director of International Defence Cooperation at Israel’s Ministry of Defense and a retired brigadier general.
The Greek Chief of Defence Staff was accompanied on his visit by Greece’s Defence Attaché in Israel and a high-ranking delegation of GEETHA officers.

The visit highlights the strategic importance and particular significance of the already established military relationship between Greece and Israel. This relationship steadily strengthens the longstanding ties between the two countries, which remain committed to promoting bilateral cooperation in addressing common challenges and enhancing stability in the wider region.
During his stay in Israel, the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff also met with the Ambassador of Greece to Israel, Ms. Maya Solomou; the Director General of the Ministry of Defense of Israel, retired Major General Amir Baram; and the Director of International Defence Cooperation at the Ministry of Defense of Israel, retired Brigadier General Yair Kulas.
