A 42-year-old Turkish national was arrested in Thessaloniki on Wednesday morning, August 26, after police discovered that an Interpol Red Notice issued by Turkey was outstanding against her.
The woman was located and arrested in an area of Thessaloniki by officers from the Department for the Prosecution of Crimes Against Life and Property, part of the Northern Greece Sub-Directorate for Combating Organized Crime.
During a police check, officers established that an active Interpol Turkey Red Notice had been issued for the woman.
According to the notice, the 42-year-old was wanted by Turkish authorities for offenses involving the production and trafficking of narcotic substances.
Following her arrest, she was taken before the competent prosecutor, where the legally prescribed judicial proceedings will follow.
