The Kremlin today declined to comment on Ukraine’s expectations that a new round of talks could take place in September with the participation of the United States.

Kremlin foreign policy adviser Yuri Ushakov said he had seen media reports about the proposal but could not say anything specific regarding comments by Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s chief of staff, who said that Ukrainian, Russian and U.S. representatives could meet next month.

The latest round of trilateral talks between Russia and Ukraine, with the participation of U.S. representatives, took place in February.

Since then, Russian and Ukrainian representatives have held only separate talks with the U.S. delegation.
