City bus collided with another bus before crashing into a bus stop where people were waiting – The injured are reported to have suffered fractures

A road accident involving two buses occurred in Neapoli, Thessaloniki, at around midday on Wednesday, when one of the vehicles ended up crashing into a stop where members of the public were standing.

According to initial reports, the incident took place on Andrea Papandreou Street, when a city bus travelling ahead was struck from behind by a second bus.

The impact caused the first bus to veer off course and crash into the stop, where people were waiting at the time.

Four people have so far been reported injured in the accident, believed to have suffered fractures, while an extrication operation was also required at the scene to free one person.

EKAV, the Fire Service and Traffic Police rushed to the area, and the circumstances surrounding the collision are being investigated. The injured are reported to have been taken to Papageorgiou Hospital.
