230-400 euro will be received by Greek households that have no other means of subsistence

The measure will begin as trial in September for 10,000 to 20,000 beneficiaries

A Guaranteed income of 230-400 euro is what every poor household will receive by the Greek government in September. This measure will begin as a trial for 10,000 to 20,000 beneficiaries, as in 2015 it is scheduled to cover approximately 250,000 households.

According to the Greek newspaper “Eleftheros typos”, the maximum amount of guaranteed income provided by the Memorandum as a measure of protection for extreme poverty will not exceed  4,800 euros per year for a family that has no other means of subsistence.

According to the plan of the Joint Ministerial Decision, the basic allowance will be set at 230 euro for a single person at his own home, of which the assessed value is 80,000 euro, while  the possibility that the assessed value could reach up to 100,000 euro is also considered a prospect.

The Greek newspaper also mentions that the guaranteed income will be increased to 400 euro, depending on the family members.
