The protest rally against the social security reform started shortly after 12 on Thursday. Greece’s public sector union (ADEDY) has called a 24-hour strike against the planned social security reforms.

Thousands of members of PAME begun marching from Omonia square heading to Greek Parliament at Syntagma demanding the withdrawal of the social security bill.

The protest rally started shortly after 12 with doctors, lawyers and teachers being among the demonstrators.

Employees in public sector, journalists and doctors are participating in the 24-hour strike.
