Kyriakos Mitsotakis, leader of the major Greek opposition party New Democracy told US newspaper ‘Washington Post’ that Greek PM Alexis Tsipras deceived the Greek public by making fake promises. Mitsotakis did not hold back in his criticism against Tsipras and his SYRIZA-ANEL coalition government blasting Ministers and state officials for ‘lazing around cafes dreaming of a revolution’. The leader of the conservative party accused Tsipras of continuously lying to and ‘enchanting’ the Greek electorate regardless of their political affiliations, while he accused the Greek government of blatantly intervening in the Greek Justice System. Mitsotakis doubted whether Tsipras could remain in power, predicting the coalition government of SYRIZA-ANAL would soon fall. ‘This government has zero experience. It has done nothing till now. It is made up of some leftists who feel cool, drink their coffee and dream of a revolution’, said Mitsotakis. Finally, he said Greece could be a lucrative investment hub, adding that privatisations of public assets should move forward fast.
