Everyone in Panathinaikos is ready for the big match against Standard Liege which will be held today at 21:00 (local time, GMT+2) in Athens, Greece.
The last training of Panathinaikos players was carried out successfully and the focus of the Greek team is on winning the Belgian team and pass to Champions League playoffs ensuring their presence in the great European football event.
The manager of Panathinaikos, Yannis Anastasiou, has chosen to include in the match the new player Ouasim Bouy, whereas Petric and Mendes have encountered some minor problems during the past few days and it is not yet certain if they can play today. Also, the participation of Lagos is still not certain due to his yesterday’s minor injury. However, Bourbos, Risvanis and Bajrami will remain on the bench for this match.
Yannis Alafouzos, the president of Panathinaikos football club, attended the last training of the team before the big match to encourage the players and had a dinner with them highlighting the good climate in the team.
At the press conference, Yannis Anastasiou stressed that Panathinaikos was ready to play a good game and would do whatever is possible to beat Standard Liege so that his team would continue to Champions League playoffs.
Moreover, Panathinaikos has another reason for wanting to win today’s match. If the Greek team beats Standard Liege, Panathinaikos will receive at least 5 million euros.
