Google announced on Tuesday a new initiative to boost the online presence and communication tools of Greek tourism businesses, in collaboration with the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) and the Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises (SETE).
The initiative, which is called “Grow Greek Tourism Online”, aims to provide the Greek tourism businesses with the necessary skills and tools that will allow them to grow during the summer season and beyond.
According to a recent study, a stronger online presence and an increase in Internet searches for Greek tourism facilities could boost the country’s GDP by up to 3% and create up to 100,000 new jobs.
Greek enterprises will receive support in learning how to use basic SEO tools such as Google My Business and Google AdWords to improve their ranking in search results. The initiative will be launched on Crete with a series of events that will take place in Iraklio and Hania on September 2 and 3 respectively.
All local businesses of the Tourism industry can participate in the events, free of charge, through the website g.co/GrowGreekTourism.
