Worldwide attention on the ancient tomb at Amphipolis has dredged any publicity and documents related to the area. Amongst the photo documents related to the area are a series of photos taken by British soldiers of the 2nd King’s Shopshire Light Infantry in 1916. The soldiers posed with skulls excavated during the construction of trenches and dugouts.
Another photo, taken in front of the Lion of Amphipolis by Anton Blasius in 1945, shows German soldiers marching before the Lion of Amphipolis.
Another photograph taken in 1992 shows a tourist posing in front of the Lion of Amphipolis still in the same place.
