Watch snake bite teenager on his face (warning: unsettling video)

The 16-year-old Robert Irwin is the son of the late famous Australian "Crocodile Hunter" Steve

Newsroom July 13 04:15

He has become the spitting image of his late father Steve Irwin in recent years.

On Saturday, Robert Irwin has proved their likeness doesn’t just come down to looks, as he shared near identical footage of being accidentally bitten by a snake.

While filming the Animal Planet series Crickey! It’s The Irwins, the 16-year-old Wildlife Warrior doted on a carpet python, before everything suddenly went wrong.

‘Aren’t they just the coolest? I love carpet pythons. That is a good size carpet python. That’s so cool. I gotta tell you, when I first found this guy…’

Robert was cut off as the snake quickly snapped towards his face, making the teenager grunt in surprised pain.

He then cut to the footage of his father Steve holding a snake in rural Queensland on his own show, The Crocodile Hunter.

The snake lunged towards Steve’s face in a similar way, to which the Crocodile Hunter merely responded ‘son of a gun’, before continuing his spiel as though nothing happened.
