The revelation of photos of the luxurious presidential resort in Marmaris, opposite Rhodes, is causing a serious “headache” to Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, at a time when the economic crisis and poverty are swiping the country.

Although the summer “palace” has been completed since 2019, only today the Turks were able to see photos of it, since access to the area is prohibited with a long and high fence.

The architect of the project Sefik Birkiye uploaded photorealistic depictions of the villa on his personal Twitter account, which covers an area of 85,000 sq.m. and has 300 rooms, a private pool and a private beach, resulting in serious reactions in Turkey.

According to the newspaper “Sozcu” the complex includes five buildings, in the Gulf of Okluk of Marmaris, in the southeastern Turkey and has received massive fire from both opposition MPs and environmental organizations, due to the inconceivable cost, but also the great environmental disaster caused during its construction.

It is estimated that about $85.6 million were spent, while about 50,000(!) trees were cut down to build a 17-kilometer access road to the resort, and tons of sand were brought to create a private beach.
