A new deterioration of the weather is forecast in Greece with the main characteristics of heavy rainfall, very stormy winds and a noticeable drop in temperature. The new bad weather system is called “Diomidis”.
According to the forecast data of the National Observatory of Athens / meteo.gr, rains, and sporadic thunderstorms, which are forecast to occur today, Monday, January 10, in the morning in several parts of the country, are expected to intensify during the day.
Northern Greece, the Northern and Eastern Aegean, the Ionian, the Peloponnese, Crete, and the Dodecanese will be the regions most affected. At the same time, the snowfalls that are occurring in the mountains will gradually expand to areas of Western Macedonia with lower altitudes. The probability of hail is increased, especially in island areas, while there is a possibility of mini tornados in parts of the Aegean.

Weather: Cloudy skies temporarily increased with local rains and gradually sporadic thunderstorms. The effects from the afternoon are likely to be strong in regions.
Winds: Variable 3 to 4 and gradually south southeast 4 to 5 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 09 to 14 degrees Celsius.
THESSALONIKI
Weather: Cloudy with local rains and sporadic thunderstorms, possibly strong in areas.
Winds: From east 3 to 4 Beaufort, with strengthening at night.
Temperature: From 06 to 12 degrees Celsius.
