The Greek team “Team Les Grecs”, managed to successfully complete the demanding Historic Rally Monte Carlo 2022, recording a notable overall performance.
The last day of the Historic Monte Carlo Rally 2022, did not start with the best omens for the Greek team “Les Grecs”.
The Dimitris Kalogeras – Christos Diamantopoulos team with the red Alfetta saw their effort end ingloriously as due to violation of the speed limits they were expelled from the race.
The Giorgos Spiliopoulos-Kyriakos Kofinas crew finished in 187th place, who despite facing damage to their car, managed to make up the gap during the two-night special stages to successfully finish the race.
The Pantelis Poseidon-Katerina Poseidon team crossed the finish line in 117th place with their Fulvia.
In 89th place were Petros Vassilopoulos and Dimitris Stathakos with the orange Escort, who could have managed a better placement had it not been for some mistakes in the first special stages. Indicative of the quality of the crew was the victory in the 16th special stage of the race.
The best showing of the Greeks was the Alexandros Christodoulou-Aris Georgosopoulos crew which managed to cross the finish line 47th. The team had an impressive last two stages where they gave it all. They pushed their reliable vehicle to its limits and in combination with the minimal penalties they received, they finished in the top 50 in the Historic Monte Carlo Rally.
For the record, the winners of the race were the Antoine Ruart-Philippe Ruart Porsche 911.
