Greek priest to trans woman at food line: “Cut off your tits and come back to get food”

The priest called her a 'creature of the devil"

Newsroom May 4 06:14

A priest handing out charity meals to the destitute verbally attacked a trans woman who lined up to get a portion at church. A video posted online shows the interaction where the priest insults the person in anger.

“I have brought you all my papers, I meet all the conditions. Why do you refuse to give me food?” The trans woman can be heard saying in a video shown by the show “Super Katerina” on Alpha. “You are a man with tits. You are a man pretending to be a woman,” he told her, among other things.

The trans woman, as lawyer Angeliki Sougle had stated to protothema.gr, is unemployed, while she started going to her parish every day to receive food, due to financial difficulties. In fact, she herself met all the necessary requirements that she presented.

“Go and become a prostitute”, the priest told her.

“I went, as usual, to get my food for 15 days without any problems, and that day the women told me that the priest wanted to see me, ” the trans woman said on the show.

“He asked me if I had submitted my papers. He said to me “are you a man or a woman?”. He told me “if you want, you can get rid of my tits and become a man and you can come and get your food. You are not human, you are a creature of the devil”. I told him: “And what can I do, I am unemployed”. “If you are unemployed and want to increase your income, go and become a prostitute.”
