North Korean leader Kim Jong-un had all but disappeared from the limelight during the last three weeks, fuelling rumors that something was wrong with his health and that his life was threatened by top North Korean officials.
An “anonymous source” who recently travelled to Pyongyang and returned to Seoul stated in Chosun Ilbo newspaper that the North Korean leader is in hospital, under heavy guard, after undergoing surgery for fractures in both ankles.
The 31 year-old North Korean leader has increased in weight, reaching 120 kg, according to the same source. Kim Jong-un’s public relations officials stated that their leader suffered fractures from the many tours he was taking daily in factories and military bases around his country.
The South Korean “source’s” statements are corroborated by South Korean Intelligence services, which state that the North Korean leader is -indeed- under heavy guard in a Pyongyang hospital.
A recent video shown by a North Korean television station shows the leader limping, but the video’s date is unknown.
Kim Jong-un’s love of Emmental cheese and alcoholic drinks led him to obesity and gout.
